The Hittite Empire

The Hittites were an ancient Anatolian people who established an empire at Hattusa in north-central Anatolia around 1600 BCE. This empire reached its height during the mid-14th century BCE under Suppiluliuma I, when it encompassed an area that included most of Asia Minor as well as parts of the northern Levant and Upper Mesopotamia. After c. 1180 BC, the empire came to an end during the Bronze Age collapse, splintering into several independent "Neo-Hittite" city-states, some of which survived until the 8th century BC.

Carro de batalla micénico

The Mycenaean warriors used the chariots, as the Egyptians and Hittites. These chariots are very similar to Egyptians, lightweight and maneuverable, with a shot of two horses and a charioteer and warrior. The chariots were very effective at that time on a field of battle plain and clear
and decided the outcome of many battles for almost seven centuries.
As the improved breeds of horses in captivity, making them bigger and stronger,
chariots gave way to the cavalry. They had two basic tactical uses:
1-like mobile weapons platforms, carrying an archer or javelin thrower
2-infantry units to disband by charges.

Infantería ligera Egipcia

Egiptian ligth infantry
Until the Middle Kingdom, the army is composed by
light infantry. It will be during the New Kingdom,
when heavy infantry and cavalry is incorporated,
 But even the Middle Kingdom,
the Egyptian army was quite meager in resources.
Isolation, did the rest.

Infantería Frigia

The origin of the Phrygians that the Assyrians
called "Mushki" is quite dark. It appears that
took the disappearance of the Hittite Empire to
settle in Anatolia pushed by other peoples as
the Dacians and the Illyrians, who were going
through that then the Balkans. When the
mid-eighth century B.C we hear of them
were settled in the west-central
Anatolia with its capital at Gordion.
